I’m Damian Marcus, a senior in high school and the founder of The Next Beat Foundation. As a student-athlete who plays baseball and basketball, I’ve seen firsthand how easily serious heart conditions can go unnoticed in young athletes. With volunteer experience in my community, I started this organization to raise awareness, expand access to EKG screenings, and help prevent sudden cardiac events through early detection and heart health education.
